100 percent track record for Team Abba Racing

It was double success for Team Abba Racing this weekend (Saturday 14th April) as it kicked off its 2018 season in the Dunlop Britcar Endurance Championship at Rockingham.

AM driver Richard Neary `double-stinted’ both races to victory in his Mercedes AMG GT3. In race one, Neary, who qualified second, took victory ahead of the Ferrari 458 GT3 of pro driver Ross Wylie and Gentleman driver David Mason.

Starting in pole position, Neary was made to work hard for his second race victory. Despite enjoying bumper-to-bumper racing with Wylie, Neary had to concede the lead to take a pit stop penalty for `jumping the start?!?’.

Sitting through an extended pitstop for his race one victory, Neary then suffered a further blow when it was deemed to be 0.5 seconds shorter than the allotted time. A further penalty saw Team Abba Racing more than a lap down with not many to go.

Some nimble driving through back markers gave Neary the lead on the penultimate lap to take his second win of the weekend.

Commenting upon the race, Richard Neary said: “This has been a promising start to the season and we are delighted with today’s result. It’s also good to be back racing with Britcar and the team.”
