Nearys announce Britcar season

Richard and Sam Neary* have announced they will be competing in the 2019 Dunlop Britcar Endurance Championship driving the Team Abba Racing BMW M3 GTR.

The father and son duo sees British GT driver Richard Neary team up with his teenage son Sam for the full season of racing in Britcar this year.

Richard Neary is looking forward to a busy season with Team Abba Racing. In December 2018 the Team announced that he will partner Adam Christodoulou in the Team's Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the 2019 British GT championship this year.

Neary made his British GT debut in 2016 aboard a BMW Z4 GT3 before switching to the Mercedes-AMG ahead of a full-season campaign the following year. He and Christodoulou then made selected appearances in 2018 while also contesting several Britcar races.

Sam Neary, who is still only 16, has raced in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series and in various series last year as he worked to achieve his International race licence in October 2018. Britcar will be his first full championship.

Richard and Sam ended last season on the podium achieving 3rd in class (SP3) in the BMW M3 GTR at the Creventic 12hr Endurance race in Spa. The team hope that 2019 will be a successful season for both Nearys.

* Sam Neary is currently studying at Loughborough College and is part of the Motorsport UK AASE programme.
